Each cell of the Protekt Aire 3600 sits on another cell. A one way valve keeps air in the lower 4 in of the cells if the power goes out, so the mattress does not empty all the way.

About The Protekt Aire 3600 Low Air Loss / Alternating Pressure Mattress System
The system is 36 x 80 x 8 in and uses the Protekt Aire 3000 pump: low air loss and alternating pressure together, a preset 10 minute cycle, an air flow dial, a static function and a visual low pressure alarm.
A quilted, fluid resistant nylon top cover, a pillow top section and a non-skid bottom cover complete it. Rated for 350 lbs, with a foam raised rail version and replacement parts available.
