Five Ways This Gets Paid For

Not all of them apply to everybody, and we would rather say that here than after a survey.

01

Financing

Monthly payments rather than the whole cost at once. Ask on the first call and we will tell you what is available and what it actually costs over the term.

02

VA contracts

We are a federal contractor and approved vendor to the VA, working with dozens of medical centers. We cannot tell you what the VA will pay for; your care team starts that.

03

Medicaid

Depends entirely on the state and the program. Some equipment, some places. We will tell you plainly rather than start paperwork that goes nowhere.

04

Homeowners insurance

Where equipment has been damaged by a storm, a power surge, or similar, homeowners policies have paid to replace stairlifts and platform lifts. Start a claim and give us the number.

05

Workers compensation

After a work-related injury, workers comp has paid for stairlifts and platform lifts to be installed. If you have an open claim, we will work with your adjuster.

We do not yet bill health insurance. That is the one route we cannot take, and we would rather you knew now.

Questions About Paying For It

Do you offer monthly payments?

Yes. Ask on the first call and we will tell you what is available, what the term is, and what it costs in total rather than only per month.

Do you bill health insurance?

Not yet. VA contracts, Medicaid depending on the state and program, homeowners claims and workers compensation are different and we work with all of them.

Will Medicare cover a stairlift?

Generally no. Stairlifts are usually treated as a home modification rather than durable medical equipment. Check with your plan rather than take our word for it.

Is there a tax deduction?

Sometimes, where the equipment is medically necessary and documented. We are not accountants, so ask yours. We can provide the itemized invoice they will want.

Do you charge for the survey?

No. All consultations, estimates, and scopes of work are provided completely free of charge, with no pressure or obligation. Sometimes the outcome is that you do not need us.

When do I pay?

Not before you have a written scope and a price in front of you and have said yes to it. The price you agree is the price of the job.

Can I pay over time when I order online?

Yes, on orders in our online store. Where a product shows a Buy now button, our secure checkout by Stripe offers Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay when your order qualifies. Which plans you see depends on the order amount, where you live and the provider’s own eligibility check.

Will choosing one of these check my credit?

Affirm says creating an account and checking your purchasing power will not affect your credit, while its pay-over-time plans and your payment history may; it reports plans to Experian and TransUnion. Klarna says it runs a soft credit check for Pay in 4, Pay in 30 days and Pay over time, and that soft checks do not affect your credit score. Afterpay says Pay Monthly loans are subject to credit check and approval.

Is there interest?

Affirm: Pay in 4 is 0% APR; monthly plans are 0–36% APR based on credit. Klarna: Pay in 4 and Pay in 30 days carry no interest when you pay on time; Pay over time is 0.00%–35.99% APR based on creditworthiness and term length. Afterpay: Pay in 4 is interest-free, though a finance fee may apply to certain transactions; Pay Monthly is 0.00% to 35.99% APR depending on eligibility. You see the exact terms before you accept a plan.

Who do I pay, and where do I manage the payments?

You repay the provider directly, not My Mobility Center. Manage the payments with Affirm at affirm.com or in the Affirm app, Klarna in the Klarna app or Afterpay in the Afterpay app.

Can I use them for a stairlift or other installed equipment?

Not today. Installed equipment is priced with a quote for your home, and those quotes are not paid through the store checkout, so these options apply to online store orders only.

What happens if I return something?

Our Refund Policy decides what can be refunded. When we refund an order paid this way, the provider cancels the remaining payments and returns what you have already paid (Affirm returns it minus any interest paid).

Why don’t I see these options at checkout?

Each provider decides what to offer by the order total and where you live, and each has its own minimum and maximum. If your order is outside a provider’s range, or its plans are not offered in your state, it does not appear. Card and the other payment methods remain available.

The Credentials Behind The Work

Anybody can sell equipment. Installing it legally, configuring it clinically, and servicing it afterward takes credentials that have to be earned and kept current. Here is what our team holds.

Elevator Mechanic

State Elevator Mechanic Licenses

Licensed elevator mechanics, state by state. Residential elevators and platform lifts are regulated work in most jurisdictions, and this is the license that makes it legal to do.

ATP

ATP, Assistive Technology Professional

RESNA-recognized credential for evaluating a person's needs and specifying the assistive technology that fits. This is who you want configuring a power chair or a seating system.

CRTS

CRTS, Complex Rehab Technology Supplier

The credential for supplying individually configured complex rehab. It is what separates a supplier who works alongside your clinical team from one who ships a box.

CAPS

CAPS, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist

Training in modifying a home so someone can stay in it. It is the difference between installing equipment and understanding the house it goes into.

MSE

Mobility Service Excellence

Industry service certification covering installation, maintenance, and repair standards across mobility equipment.

EPA 609

EPA Section 609

Federal certification for handling refrigerant in vehicle air conditioning. It is required to legally service a bus AC system, and it is why fleet work is something we can actually take on.
