Meet Buddy, Smirthwaite's entry-level vertical stander with a teddy bear design. It is for very young children who need low to moderate support while weight bearing, and Smirthwaite made it slim so it can be used in school alongside friends. It can also be used as a hip stander.

From the foot board, the thoracic support sets at 18.9 in to 24.4 in, the pelvic support at 13.8 in to 18.1 in and the knee supports at 7.1 in to 13.4 in, and the thoracic supports open to 17.7 in. The base frame is 25.6 in by 19.6 in, and the stander weighs 30.9 lb. Smirthwaite asks that it be sized from these figures.
It comes fully assembled with a tray, chest band, pelvic band, knee supports and sandals; straps and tray come in lime. Smirthwaite covers it for 2 years and says the user should never be left unattended.
